Carols by candlelight attracts hundreds of friends and families each year for a night of singing, dancing and entertainment — and 2022 will be no exception.
The line-up for the evening consists of familiar faces as well as a few acts new to the stage.
On the list of entertainers are Nicky Pummeroy, Nigel Parsons, Jazz Trio (Wade, Rachael and Brian), Aaron Wallace, Fortessima (Emma, Sophie, Kirsty and Jamie), Monga Mukasa, Juliana De Quilettes, Shepparton Brass and Wind, GV Pipes and Drums, and Turaton Christmas Choir.
With the show commencing at 6.30pm, event organisers advise attendees to arrive early and secure a spot in the gardens with fold-out chairs, picnic rugs, cushions or blankets.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring sun-smart wear, mosquito repellent and something warm for when the sun goes down.
The free community event will offer a variety of food and drinks for purchase from local vendors and community groups.
The smorgasbord of options includes Grill on Wheels, Top Notch Poffertjes, Nanna Marce, Mr Sheppy, Kiwanis Shepparton and Jam Packed Coffee.
All vendors will be accepting both cash and card payments; however, the community barbecue will be cash only.
Event goers are welcome to bring their own food and sealed water, keeping in mind to avoid littering.
Please remember carols by candlelight is strictly an alcohol-free event.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali is excited to see many community members at the event this Sunday.
“We’re looking forward to seeing you all at carols by candlelight this weekend, it will be a perfect evening to come out and have a fantastic time with your family and friends,” Cr Sali said.
“This is the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the holidays and reflect on the 2022 year.”
For those that cannot attend in person, a live stream can be watched on council’s website.
Please be aware of roadworks in the area when travelling.
Nixon St will be closed between Welsford and Wyndham Sts from 4.30pm to 10pm this Sunday.
The current Welsford St intersection works will also be in place.
