Clean Up Australia Day is set to return for its 35th year on Sunday, March 2.
The event, which started in 1990, has seen more than 22 million Australians volunteer to help preserve the nation's landscapes.
In 2024, the volunteers collected an estimated 140,000 bags of litter across the country.
This year, organisers are aiming for an even greater impact with community support.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell urged residents to take part in the initiative.
“Our community groups, businesses and individuals have shown incredible dedication to keeping our environment clean,’’ he said.
‘’This year, we continue to support these efforts by providing essential resources and assistance.’’
Council’s sustainability director Michael Sharp emphasised the importance of community involvement.
“By joining forces, we can prevent rubbish from harming our wildlife and keep our neighbourhoods looking their best,” he said.
Registering for a Clean Up event is free and easy with Clean Up Australia provides all necessary resources, including starter kits with bags and gloves.
