Buses to replace V/Line trains

Seymour trains travelling to Albury will also be replaced with buses.

Other lines affected include Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill.

All train passengers are advised to read VLine's extreme heat timetable, which comes into effect when the mercury is predicted to hit 36 degrees.

Shadow Minister for Public Transport (Regional) Steph Ryan said regional Victorians shouldn't be forced to use buses on hot weather days.

“At a time when climate experts are predicting more extreme weather, including intense heatwaves, the cancellations and delays will only get worse without the right investment to keep the trains running on hot days.

“Last summer, VLine passengers faced constant delays and replacement buses on hot days and now history is repeating itself because the Andrews Labor Government refused to fix the problem.”
