Coaches will replace trains on the Shepparton and Seymour lines between Southern Cross and Seymour, and Shepparton, from Wednesday, August 23 to Sunday, August 27.
This is due to upgrades along these lines; however, Albury line trains will run as normal.
During this time, crews will carry out improvement works on train detection technology at the level crossing between Rail St and Epping-Kilmore Rd in Heathcote Junction.
The level crossing will be closed from Wednesday, August 23 to Saturday, August 26, with a detour using Broadford-Wandong Rd.
Fifty level crossings on the Shepparton line have been improved, with 32 upgraded to include boom gates, flashing lights and bells.
A temporary timetable will be in place during the five days of rail works, and passengers are urged to allow 60 minutes extra for the journey by coach.
