It comes after Tuesday night's federal budget was focused on spending in the job sector, as Treasurer Josh Frydenberg revealed a $213 billion deficit.
The shining light was $320 million for stage three of the Shepparton Rail Upgrade, which had being revealed prior to the budget.
“That's the big one; it's one of the biggest in Australia for a specific electorate,” he said.
Mr Frydenberg announced $2 billion in concessional loans for farmers experiencing drought and $200 million for a new round of the Building Better Regions Fund.
The budget also revealed an additional $250 payment for aged pensioners from December and a further $250 from March next year.
Mr Frydenberg said people earning $120,000 or less would receive a backdated tax cut to July 1 this year.
Mr Drum said he was confident the tourism sector in Echuca and Yarrawonga would be able to access a share in $50 million set aside for a regional tourism recovery initiative.
The Federal Government will spend $2 billion to build water infrastructure.
But Mr Drum said it would be a tough couple of years not just for the Goulburn Valley but the rest of Australia, while the economy started it recovery phase.
“I don't think the government had any choice,” Mr Drum said.
“Do we contemplate what we're going to do in three, four or five years? We have to keep an eye on that.
“That's why hardly any of these funding announcements and welfare supports are locked into the future. They're there for a couple of years.
“We're going to have debt that we're going to have to repay; however, I suppose on the flip side, the cost of money puts us in a good position that we will be able to afford to pay the interest on the debt without being in financial strife as a nation.”
Mr Drum said the Goulburn Valley would receive a huge chunk of the $1.5 billion for manufacturing because of its sector size.
“You look at $1.9 billion for renewable energy — the GV will get a chunk of that because we're very popular when it comes to solar.
“We will get our share in aged care that includes 23,000 support packages.
“I'm expecting Nicholls will be co-beneficiaries of all these."
Mr Drum said Nicholls had already received its share of $3 billion promised for local roads, when close to $7 million was announced early last week.
