Set to kick off on Saturday, March 8 this event will bring together Australia’s top cowboys, bull riders, and equestrian talent for a showdown that promises to entertain fans of all ages.
Hosted at Shepparton Showgrounds, the Shepparton Rodeo’s electrifying action of the main events and the colourful country festival atmosphere promises to be an experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Whether you’re a die-hard rodeo fan or new to the sport, the Shepparton Rodeo offers something for everyone.
"Australia's rodeo scene is rich in history and tradition, and we’re excited to bring this premier event back to Shepparton," event director of the Victorian Rodeo Company, Bart Hamilton said.
"This year’s event will feature some of the best riders and horses from across the country, providing fans with a front-row seat to the wild, heart-pounding action that makes rodeo so special."
What to Expect at the Shepparton Rodeo:
- Bull Riding – Hold your breath as fearless cowboys attempt to stay on a 900-kg bucking bull for eight thrilling seconds, a feat of strength and determination that has become synonymous with rodeo.
- Barrel Racing – Watch as Australia’s fastest female riders and their horses weave through a cloverleaf pattern at lightning speed, showcasing agility, precision, and speed in this timed event.
- Saddle Bronc – A rodeo classic; witness the mastery of cowboys as they ride bucking broncos with style and control, keeping the tradition of the Old West alive.
- Live Country Music – Cush Ryder will bring his signature blend of country hits and foot-stomping anthems, making sure the dance floor stays packed and the energy high all night long.
But the Shepparton Rodeo is more than just the rodeo events.
Visitors can enjoy a lively Festival Zone with food trucks serving Aussie favourites – burgers, barbecue, souvlaki, wood-fire pizza, ice-cream and Boost Juice.
Live music will be playing for the entire night, featuring a DJ and musicians Soloman and Lacey.
An array of market stalls including homewares, western clothing, leather goods and everything in between will be available to explore.
Families are also welcome, with a dedicated Kids’ Corner offering face painting, games with rodeo clowns and line dancing to keep the little ones entertained.
