The third Brewing for Change gig returns to Shepparton Brewery this Saturday, October 14, in support of a local woman known and loved by many: Bella Ainsworth.
Bella was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer just weeks after giving birth to her first baby, Saf.
Though doctors initially branded her inoperable, a liver transplant is a potential way forward, but the only hospital to offer a fighting chance is in Sydney.
All money raised on the day will be donated to Bella’s GoFundMe.
Known for ‘singing for change in your pocket’, Brewing for Change offers attendees the opportunity to donate via buckets stationed at the bar.
Local legends Gravel Road are set to perform, featuring members of Curtis Love and the Disciples: Glenn ‘Bully’ Suratman, Micky Leonard and Allan Richards.
“They’ve been playing together on and off for 60 years, so they’ll be doing their thing and bringing in a special guest guitarist,” event organiser Craig ‘Whiskas’ Veysey said.
It didn’t take too much arm-twisting for Whiskas to give The News the exclusive on the special guest.
“I’ll just tell you — it’s Nigel Parsons,” he said.
As well as being MC on the evening, Whiskas has organised a raffle to win tickets to this year’s GROUNDed festival at the Dookie Quarry, presented by Secret Garden Gigs.
Raffle tickets will be available to purchase at the gig.
Brewing for Change is on Saturday, October 14, from 3pm to 6pm at Shepparton Brewery, 15 Edwards St, Shepparton.
