The Blighty Redeyes Football Netball Club is building toward an improved football season in 2025, following a year in which the seniors were only able to secure two wins.

Dane Leyden’s appointment to senior coach was one of the first announcements from the club in the off season, followed soon after by junior football coaching appointments.
All club leaders have also been working on player recruitment, with the April start for the Picola and District League season expected to approach quickly.
Jordan Priestley is the newest signing for the senior footballers, hopefully opening the floodgates for even more signing announcements before the beginning of next season.
Priestley had played most of his football with Echuca United in the Murray League before joining Blighty.
He also spent a season with Moama in the Murray League.
On the netball front, the junior netballers will be looking at a big 2025 with the appointment of home-grown star Chelsea Weir to take the reins for the under-15s.
Weir won a number of awards at the Redeyes’ night of nights this year, including taking out the Deb Cochrane Sportsmanship Award and the highest aggregate of votes for any netballer at the club.
This was all in addition to her taking out the under-17s best and fairest.
The Blighty under-17s netballers will also be in more than capable hands next year, with Natalie Tremble taking over the job of shaping the next senior generations of netball stars at Blighty.
Tremble has a wealth of knowledge and experience, including an A-grade club best and fairest award.
She will have plenty to teach the younger players, and is sure to bring out the best in their abilities.
The club started pre-season training in November, and will continue to work on securing player numbers for 2025.
The first round of the 2025 season will see Blighty take on the Jerilderie Demons at the Blighty Recreation Reserve on April 5.
