Jose Jong and Yung Lang Mu took over the thriving cafe and takeaway business from Ken and Dot Hunt more than 17 years ago.
But now they are retiring due to ill health and have handed the reins to the Rose family, who owns the Nagambie Bakery.
Jose Jong and Yung Lang Mu are originally from Timor Leste and, along with their family, built the reputation of Billy Burgers as one of the best places for a hamburger, steak sandwich and fish and chips.
It is not just the locals that have flooded to the popular venue but hundreds visiting for events or passing through who discovered its quality products.
Jose Jong and Yung Lang Mu will stay on at the café for a short time before officially handing over to the Rose family.
The couple thanked all its customers for their loyalty during the past 17 years and wished the Rose family well in its new venture.
Billy Burgers will continue to operate six days a week.
