The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is developing a new floodplain management plan for the Billabong Creek floodplain and is seeking community feedback on key elements of the plan.
The public consultation will seek feedback on issues including the proposed floodplain boundary and floodway network.
Feedback on these elements can be made until November 18, 2024.
Floodplain management plans set the rules for flood work development on floodplains in rural areas. They map the floodways and apply rules and assessment criteria for flood work approvals.
Individual appointments will be held on Tuesday, October 22 in Jerilderie, Wednesday, October 23 in Moulamein, and Thursday, October 24 in Wanganella.
Online appointments are also available on October 21, 28 and 29.
