The definition of ‘a giant Furphy’ would usually be something that doesn’t really exist or didn’t happen.

But the enormous water cart now in place at Kialla’s Museum of Vehicle Evolution is no tall tale.

The giant water cart turned heads as it travelled to the museum in time for the site’s grand opening on Saturday night, standing even taller on the back of a truck before a crane was needed to lift it into place.

MOVE is home to the Furphy Museum, which tells the story of Australia’s oldest continuously-operated family business.

Like all big things, the water cart is expected to become the must-have selfie for locals and visitors alike.

Before it left the factory the whole Furphy Engineering team posed for a photograph with the finished product, which seemed a bit mad at first, but turned into a labour of love.

“All we need now is to find a really big horse,” Adam Furphy joked at the launch.
