Bicentennial Park play space to undergo facelift

Strathbogie Shire Council sought input for the park's upgrade from kindergarten and primary school children.

The survey results indicated an appetite for adventure play equipment and a new bike track.

Council administrator Peter Stephenson said in February and March, staff engaged the youngest members of the community to make their equipment choices.

"There is no doubt that children’s play spaces are the hub for challenges and activity,“ he said.

“To combine both adventure-play and an educational bike track in this area has been something the community has wanted for some time.

"The park will also have shade sails installed, which will be a bonus for play during our warmer summer months," Mr Stephenson said.

Council is currently seeking input on a longer-term strategy for play and open spaces across the municipality.

Comments on the draft Play and Open Space Strategy close on July 17.
