Six of the 10 candidates for the Division of Bendigo were at the draw, which was held in Bendigo’s central business district at noon.
The Australian Electoral Commission determines ballot orders through a bingo-style process.
Numbered balls are placed into a container, rotated and drawn by a blindfolded AEC representative.
Candidate Avery Barnett-Dacey's child rotates the container. Members of the public, including candidates, are invited to participate in the process.

It will be open from 8.30am to 5.30pm, from Tuesday, April 22, to Thursday, April 24.
On Saturday, April 26, it is open from 9am to 4pm.
From Monday, April 28, to Thursday, May 1, it is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm
On Friday, May 2, it is open from 8.30am to 6pm.
