The transformation is aimed at offering locals a revitalised shopping experience with more checkout options and a wider variety of products to choose from.
The Benalla supermarket has undergone a multimillion-dollar renewal during the past few months, upgrading the layout and installing new fixtures aiming to help deliver convenient shopping solutions.
Store manager Jitendu Khisa said Woolworths Benalla showcases an extensive range of Australian fruit and vegetables, with a selection of 100 per cent Australian beef and an array of fresh seafood from the fish market.
“A shining star of the new store is the full production bakery, offering fresh stone-baked bread made from Australian wheat flour, as well as a number of pastries and cakes prepared daily by the bakery team,” he said.

“The store also features a selection of plant-based protein and a dedicated range of gluten-free goods.”
While the store has several new features, many of the familiar faces from the local team are still there.
Mr Khisa said the Benalla branch employed 170 team members, including two who have worked there since August 2001.
“I'm so excited to be leading this team and getting to know our local shoppers,” he said.
“It's been great to see the store's transformation come together in the last couple of weeks.”
For locals who choose to shop online, the Benalla store features a brand new Direct to Boot service where customers place their grocery orders online then simply confirm when they’ve arrived in one of the marked bays via the Woolworths app or SMS link to notify the store team, who then pack the order directly in the boot with no additional charge.
Mr Khisa said Woolworths Benalla was also committed to growing greener, reducing its impact on the environment and operating more sustainably.
“The store has been fitted out with LED lights to reduce power usage and includes carbon-efficient refrigeration and air-conditioning systems,” he said.
“It also features the largest number of solar panels on the roof of a Woolworths store in Victoria.”
