Collection efforts ramp up at the Nunn St traffic lights this Thursday, April 17, with traditional street collections from early Friday morning.
Collectors from CFA and SES will visit local streets with fire trucks, tins and smiles to raise funds for this iconic cause, led by local Ron Schultz.
“Ron’s tireless commitment to this cause has lasted half a century so far — it's incredible,” Benalla Fire Brigade secretary Liz Frazer said.
An Easter hamper raffle will be drawn Friday afternoon, with tickets available for purchase at the fire station from Friday morning.
All proceeds will go directly to the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, which has supported sick children and their families since 1931.
Community support is welcome — through donations, buying raffle tickets, or even helping with collections.
To join the collection effort, go to Benalla Fire Station from 9am on Good Friday to register and receive a safety briefing.
