The spring weather turned it on for the Benalla Bushwalking Club on Sunday, September 22, as members walked from the Paradise Falls car park up to McMillan’s Track, then on to McMillan’s Lookout.

A club spokesperson said the varnish and ovens wattles were in full bloom, as well as the purple hardenbergia and a few orchids.
“The view from the lookout was quite spectacular, looking across Lake William Hovell to the distant mountain ranges,” the spokesperson said.
“There was much discussion over which mountains we were looking at. There was a distant snow-capped peak that some walkers thought was Mt Howitt.
“After returning to the car park, we visited Paradise Falls, Little Paradise Falls and one of Brian’s ‘special rocks’.
“Thanks to David Coutts for leading his first walk for the Bushwalking Club.”
