The Shepparton Italian Festa is set to return with an expanded program of activities, cultural displays and entertainment for its sixth annual year.
The event, run by the Shepparton Italian Social Club, offers free entry, and is expected to attract over 8000 visitors throughout the day from noon until 9pm.
Italian Social Club members Sam Campi, Vince Sagoleo and Adam Perona encourage the community to enjoy the free entry and “be Italian for the day”.
From captivating guest entertainers to an array of mouthwatering Italian cuisine and engaging demonstrations, there will be something for everyone.
All the way from Adelaide, Simon and Marco from Radio Italiana 531AM will serve as MCs, guiding attendees through the day’s festivities.
The event will feature live performances from various artists, including the Boroondara Symphonic Band, Melbourne School of Tarantella and Terra Di Calabria Band.
Former Australian Idol contestant Cosima De Vito will make her debut at the event, performing an exclusive Italian set backed by the DeBellis Showband.
“This exclusive performance is a must-see event that will have you dancing and singing along to your favourite Italian songs,” event organiser Mr Campi said.
Visitors can indulge in authentic Italian cuisine from over 18 food vans, with options available for those requiring gluten-free meals.
The event is funded under a multicultural grant with support from Greater Shepparton City Council and the event’s chosen sponsors.
Automotive enthusiasts are also in for a treat, with a special showcase of Italian cars curated by film industry professional Leo Notarianni.
As a passionate advocate for cinematography and classic motoring, Leo has played a key role in bringing together a stunning display of Italian and European vehicles for the event.
He is inviting all owners of Italian and other European vehicles to exhibit their pride and joy at the festival.

The major raffle, with tickets priced at $10, offers the chance to win a trip to Italy, along with five other prizes.
The draw will take place before the fireworks display, which will conclude the event at about 9pm.
