Shepparton Senior Citizen of the Year and dedicated volunteer William ‘Bill’ Brown planted a special tree alongside City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Kim O’Keeffe on Sunday, May 29 to mark the occasion.
The gardens, built atop the old Kialla Landfill site, are home to native Australian plants including those native to our region.
The ceremony was followed by walking tours of the gardens, a plant sale, garden displays, nature activities, a community grant information session and a sausage sizzle.
