It’s a celebration of the selfless people who dig in and help others, the volunteers who support our community and sporting organisations, and a celebration of all that Australia is.
To those of you today who are publicly acknowledged and receive Australia Day awards, I thank you for your contributions.
I have been reflecting on the diverse, strong and resilient communities we have right across the Murray electorate.
Our region is blessed with an exceptionally diverse cultural history, something we can all appreciate, value and endeavour to learn more about.
Regardless of where we were born, the language we grew up speaking, the religion we might or might not follow or the colour of our skin.
We are all Australian, and we all have a contribution to make, and I’m here to represent all of you.
