Deniliquin entrants had great success in the Northern District Agricultural Shows section, and the Victorian Agricultural Shows sections.
In the NDAS competition at Swan Hill, Deni locals claimed three firsts and three second placings.
Linda Maher came first and second in both the handcraft one person’s work category and in the crocheted article category.
Bob Johnson impressed judges with his photography in the building category — which could be a black and white or colour photo — to also claim a blue ribbon.
In the same photography category, Bobby Murphy placed second.
Mrs Maher and Mr Johnson kept the wins coming in the VAS competitions.
Mrs Maher was first and second in the hand embroidery category, and Mr Johnson in open photography for ‘animals in action’.
In the same photography section, Deniliquin’s Sue Miles placed second.
In the VAS open photography ‘after dark category, Ms Miles was first and second.
The next stage for all entrants is the regional finals, to also be held in Swan Hill in April.
If successful there, the local entries will be off to the Melbourne Show later in the year for state judging.
