Clock ticks again
Nagambie’s town clock is ticking again.
It’s been on the blink for a year but recently a new RSL recruit Tony Cincotta came to the rescue.
A clockmaker from the time he was 17, Tony and other Nagambie RSL members Bob Doherty and Davo Wells repaired the historic monument in the town’s main centre.
The clock was a community effort and stands as a tribute to Nagambie and district residents who served or lost their lives in World War II.
Community members raised the money after the war to build the monument.
Struggling for funds
Is the Seymour Railway Heritage Cente running out of steam?
After 40 years, the heritage centre is looking for volunteers to ensue its immediate future.
Seymour is huge on preserving heritage trains and has even named its main drag, Station St, after its railway heritage.
One of its prize possessions is the steam locomotive J515, which was of the earliest restoration projects carried out by the Seymour Locomotive Steam Preservation Group as it was initially known.
With its inability to attract grants, the centre is struggling for funds and manpower to keep its historic fleet in working order.

Tough collecting
Designated firewood collecting areas are few and far between according to state Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland.
From March 1 until June, Victorians can collect free firewood for personal use from designated forests.
Ms Cleeland is concerned about a repeat from last year when areas where firewood could be sourced did not have enough to meet the demand.
She is worried it will be the same situation this year as available areas for firewood collection decrease each year.
