Prove your unwavering dedication by testing your knowledge on 150 questions across 15 rounds of trivia at the first event of its kind for the Salvation Army North East Youth Services (NEYS).
Made possible by a Victorian Government Youth Fest grant, the ‘Taylor Swift Trivia Event’ is aimed primarily at young people aged 12 to 25 but is open to all ages, including mini ‘Swifties’ and older fans.
“This is a first for us, but we know the appetite is there,” Salvation Army NEYS youth participation worker Jim Gow said.
“We are all aware of the phenomenon that is Taylor Swift, and her very passionate fan base, so we thought why not have a trivia night around it all and invite the young people to potentially win some great prizes?”
Organisers are encouraging guests to get their friendship bracelets on and come dressed in their favourite ‘era’ for a chance to win prizes.
Youth Fest grants support community organisations, schools and local government with funding up to $2000 to host youth-led events throughout September.
This year, the Victorian Youth Fest is a month-long celebration that highlights the contributions and achievements of young people in their communities.
“Hopefully this is the start of engaging young people by putting on a range of events for them to do in Greater Shepparton,” Mr Gow said.
“We too often hear that there is nothing to do in the area for young people, and we are looking to turn that around after a quiet few years, especially when it comes to putting on new and dynamic events that we haven’t seen before.”
There will be snow cones available at the event with 11 different colours and flavours representing the 11 different albums Swift has released.
The fully supervised event at the McIntosh Centre, Shepparton Showgrounds, is drug, alcohol, smoke and vape-free, and no pass-outs will be available.
Guests are invited to bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.
It is on Friday, September 6, starting at 7pm and finishing at 10pm.
Tickets are sold by the table (seating up to six) for $30 and are available here.
