David Harris MP announced the grant for creation of an ANZAC Memorial area.
Principal Jeff Ward said planning of the memorial area will be done with input from teachers, students and members of the Finley RSL Sub-branch.
“Finley High School has long upheld a proud tradition of remembering those who have served,” he siad.
“Through our history studies, many of our students take great pride in sharing the stories of their relatives who served in past battles or during times of peace.
“As a former serving member, I take great pride in ensuring that our students understand the significance of the ADF and the critical role they have played and continue to play.
“I know our students will be forever grateful for this support, and we are certain the impact this will have on future generations is invaluable in preserving this important legacy.”
Mr Harris said the project would play an important role in commemorating and educating NSW communities about the service and sacrifice of Australian men and women.
