All funds raised will support cancer services provided through Echuca Regional Health and the Hobart WP Holman Clinic Trust.
The event has been run by local charity Horizon Committee Inc. since 2017 and raises around $100,000 a year.
As a condition of participation in the Postie Bike’s event, riders raise $2000 in donations or through sponsorship.
Event coordinator Dick Phillips said the local community have been supportive of the event and riders.
“As far as the fundraising side of it is concerned, the idea is that everyone gets the fundraising done beforehand and then they can enjoy the ride without worrying about it,” he said.
“People around Echuca and Moama have always been generous with their support and the regular riders have regular sponsors.
“Of course [people] can continue to use our Go Fund Me page or spreading the word while we’re doing the ride.”
The participants will set off from Devonport on Monday, February 24 and travel towards Tullah.
On Tuesday they will head down to Hobart before riding up Mt Wellington, through the CBD and on to Orford on the Wednesday.
Thursday will be the shortest day of the trip, with riders to head up the coast to St Helens before finishing up in Devenport on Friday.
Although the event aims to raise money, riders will have a chance to take in the scenery of Tasmania, enjoy the local hospitality and visit historic and unique sites.

ERH Chief Executive Robyn Lindsay said the ERH are thankful for the ongoing support from the Horizon Committee and participants of the ride.
“The money raised from this year’s Postie Bike Ride will go directly towards ERH’s Primary Mental Health and Wellbeing initiative, helping to build a brighter, healthier future for our community” she said.
“We wish the touring group a safe and enjoyable trip in Tasmania.”
The Horizon Committee Inc. have been fundraising for cancer services since 2004 through the Postie Bike’s and other events and have raised over $2,700,000 so far.
The major beneficiaries have been breast cancer and prostate cancer services provided by hospitals in Albury, Rochester, Bendigo, Launceston and Echuca.
The charity’s Go Fund Me page has received over $23,000 in donations as of Tuesday, February 18, and is still growing.
