The inaugural AFLW Pride Round will kick-off on Friday night between Toogood's Western Bulldogs and Carlton at VU Whitten Oval.
After previously being celebrated as a Pride Game between the two clubs, this season signals the first time it has been extended to an entire round.
It will be the fourth straight year the Blues and Dogs have come together to recognise and celebrate the LGBTIQA+ community.
Speaking at the launch of the Pride Round on Tuesday, the talented forward said she couldn't wait to partake in the round which celebrates inclusiveness and welcoming all people.
“As humans, we all want acceptance and love, and the pride game for us has been that, where people can be here, feel accepted,” Toogood said.
“Now we have a round dedicated to it, it's really special, because as I said, we want love, belonging and acceptance.
“That's what we do here, I'm really excited for it and it's a great opportunity to celebrate everyone.”
Once again, both clubs have designed a special Pride Round guernsey which will be worn on Friday night.
The Bulldogs’ club graphic designer Natalie Gills has opted to integrate all the different LGBTIQA flag colour representations in the form of the club's hoops.
“It was a bit of a different take this year, she did a lot of research and consultation with our Bulldogs Pride supporter group, so we could get a more progressive and (well-rounded) approach to this guernsey design,” Toogood said.
“It has all the colours and flags of all the identities in the LGBTIQA community.
“It's really cool, it's a really progressive approach to make sure we are representing everybody.”
Shepparton export and midfielder Grace Egan will run out for the Blues in the match.
● In other matches, Mooroopna's Millie Brown, Benalla's Becky Webster and Kyabram's Julia Crockett-Grills will be hoping to help Geelong bounce back against Brisbane Lions.
And Shepparton's Angela Foley won't be in action after Adelaide's encounter against Fremantle was postponed due to Western Australia's COVID-19 lockdown.
