Students from Finely High were invited to three different workplaces last Friday for their Careers & Employment Expo, giving them a taste of what life might be like after school.

They were treated to some behind the scenes looks at Finley’s water treatment plant and the Tocumwal Aerodrome and Aviation Museum, while others were afforded the opportunity to hear from allied health professionals from the area.
The expo was run in conjunction with Youth Futures Network, a company which identified the challenges for young people transitioning to the workforce from school and helping them to work through those barriers or challenges.
“The day was filled with invaluable opportunities to pick the brains of professionals, giving students a greater understanding of life as an employee in the workforce,” the school reported.
“Without these opportunities to have these conversations and meet people from the workforce students may not understand or even know what they need to do when beginning their own journeys in it.”
