Breakfast was hosted at the school Monday, Thursday and Friday last week, emphasizing the importance of starting the day with a nutritious breakfast in order to be ready to learn.
The initiative was spearheaded by the Year 5 class and student support officer Bec Judge, who successfully introduced the breakfast club.
“The initiative aims to improve student engagement, behaviour and punctuality, affording them the opportunity to get some nutrients for breakfast,” the school said.
“The success of Tocumwal Public School’s breakfast club during World Wellbeing Week highlights the significant positive impact such programs can have on students’ academic and personal lives and the school community as a whole.
“The week wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the donations from March’s IGA Tocumwal and the Macdermid’s Bakery, Tocumwal, and to Courtney Blakelock for the donation of the toaster.”
