The school holidays have finally arrrived, which means the Murrumbidgee Council’s exciting holiday program is just a few days away.
Council is excited to present free learn to skate workshops and roller discos, thanks to funding from the NSW Government Holiday Break Program.
The program comes to Coleambally on October 8.
The activities begin with a Beginner Skate Workshop (limited places), where inexperienced skaters can learn stopping, and how to move forward and fall safely.
This is suitable for anyone aged five and up.
There will also be Roller Disco/Dance Games, where you can cut some shapes on the dance floor with your new-found skate skills.
Skaters are encouraged to wear their favourite disco attire.
An all ages session will be held from 3pm to 4.30pm, plus there’s also a separate disco for those aged 12 to 24 only, from 4.45 pm to 6pm.
People aged 12 to 24 years are welcome to participate in both sessions.
Please bring a pair of socks and any safety equipment you wish to use, such as a helmet.
Participants can bring in their own skates (not roller blades) or use the free rental skates available.
Children under five must be accompanied by a parent in the skating zone.
Registrations are essential for this fun, free event.
For further information contact council’s tourism and events officer on 0428 758 087.
