The Kyabram-Sheridan Country Women’s Association celebrated it’s 60th birthday on Wednesday, April 2 with more than 50 past and present members filling the Uniting Church hall for a birthday bash like no other.
On the menu for the afternoon, in true CWA style, were an array of cakes, sandwiches, scones and — of course — tea.
Secretary Doreen Napier and president Maurene Pearce emceed the day’s festivities sharing memories and the history of the group.
Many members were celebrating their anniversary with the group, including Lyn Fraser celebrating 11 years, Ann Roberts, 24 years, Melva Kightly, 55 years, Berrie McMillan, 56 years, and Mrs Napier, who has been with the group all 60 years.
Mrs Napier, thanked all for coming to the 60-year celebration and reminisced on old memories.
“What you learn and the friendships you make over these years — you just can’t buy that,” she said.
“It is just so valuable to us and it just means so much. Thank you.”
She also announced a book would be available for purchase which recounts all that the club has done in the past 10 years.
