But for those lucky enough to go the 39th Annual Vintage Rally and Tractor Pull at Wunghnu Recreation Reserve over Easter history truly came alive.
Attendees, who numbered in their several hundreds, enjoyed tractor pulls, twilight tractor pulls, train rides courtesy of the Moira Miniature Rail and working exhibits with machinery from a bygone era.
Vintage cars and an assortment of trucks were also on display.
Many of those who contributed to the festival brought their own restored vehicles to display.
Event organiser Lloyd Healey said the Saturday and Sunday event was a complete success.
“It was beautiful weather-wise and a great weekend crowd-wise,” he said.
Mr Healey said holding the tractor pull was important so like-minded people (people who enjoy agricultural history) can show what they fixed up since the last event and to showcase history.
“Everyone seemed to have a great time while they were there,” Mr Healey said.
