The year has been yet again an interesting one. I have had the privilege of meeting wonderful people who have interesting stories and life experiences to share with the rest of the community.
There are of course stories of sadness, but there are also stories of triumph in the face of adversity, where members of the community came together as one and lifted each other up again. Those are the moments that remind me why I joined The News and emphasise the importance of my role within the industry.
As a news photographer, I have been humbled by the experiences and opportunities that I have I have encountered. Capturing these moments through my camera lens allows others to take a glimpse of the stories that surround us. It is a unique experience that not many careers offer and I look forward to many more throughout the new year.
The following images offer a mere glimpse into my extensive 2023 portfolio of news photos, yet they vividly encapsulate the spirit of the year, holding a special place among my favourites.
