More than 200 people attended the second Nelson Mandela Regional Youth Summit forum, presented by Future Voices and Gandhi Experiment, at Shepparton High School.
Future Voices chair Apollo Nsubuga-Kyobe said participants were encouraged to set actionable goals, share knowledge and celebrate Nelson Mandela’s legacy.
‘‘Our theme is ethical leadership and commitment to positive change where the topics are based in Nelson Mandela’s legacy, which are considered to be good for enhancing empowerment, personal growth, regional development and global engagements,’’ Mr Nsubuga-Kyobe said.
‘‘Regional youths involvement is achieved and is expected to still provide multiple opportunities, partnerships and ways forward.’’
Speakers included United States consul general Michael Kleine, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Antony Lynch and City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Kim O’Keeffe.
