Military aircraft crashed near Hamilton Island: reports

The Courier-Mail reported four people were feared dead in the crash, which it said happened on Friday night.

Defence forces from Australia, the United States and other allies have been taking part in war games, with the bulk of the exercises held in regional Queensland.

Earlier in July, a US Army tank was caught up in a fiery crash near Rockhampton that left six people in hospital.

No further details on the latest incident were immediately available.
