Labor promises Qld manufacturing support

In partnership with the Palaszczuk Queensland government and the Townsville City Council, an Albanese Labor government will fund the essential enabling infrastructure behind this critical economic development, building road, rail and water infrastructure.

This project will create over 5000 jobs in construction alone, with a further 6,000 permanent ongoing jobs and 9100 indirect jobs to follow when it is fully operating. 

"We need Australia to be a nation that makes things again," Labor leader Anthony Albanese said.

"Cheap, renewable energy provides us with a once-in-a-generation opportunity to boost our manufacturing sector and this commitment will help make that a reality in North Queensland."
