The blaze destroyed more than 3800 hectares of bluegum plantation, scrub and grassland near Lucindale.
On Friday, Country Fire Service volunteer Louise Hincks was killed when she was hit by a burning branch.
At the same time, a 62-year-old man was also hit and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
On Monday, the CFS said about 90 firefighters remained on the scene overnight patrolling the fire ground and dousing areas of concern.
Local government and transport department crews were also working to clear dangerous trees to allow local roads to reopen.
Some crews were expected to remain in the area for the next few days with residents urged to remain vigilant.
Also on Monday, a GoFundMe page set up to support the Hincks family topped $17,500 in donations.
Friend Emma-Kate Lindsay said Ms Hincks was not only a CFS volunteer but a decorated mental health worker and grief counsellor and a much-loved wife and mother.
"Louise was simply the best person I have ever known," Ms Lindsay said.
Flinders University, where the 44-year-old worked as its counselling team, said she was a committed, skilled and supportive staff member.
"We remember her as a fearless and dedicated CFS volunteer who always stepped up to assist in any emergency," Deputy Vice-Chancellor Romy Lawson said.
"She truly embodied our values of excellence, integrity and courage."
