The prime minister held the talks on the sidelines of the APEC Summit in San Francisco on Friday morning AEDT.
They discussed the risk of bushfires after a horror season of wildfires in Canada.
Mr Albanese said he was "very worried about our upcoming summer".
"We have all the conditions that were there prior to 2019-20," he said.
"Indeed, the fact that that period has gone means you've got the growth that is just about the right size, elements, conditions to really be concerned with. Very dry, hot period coming up for us."
On the Hamas-Israel conflict, the prime minister said Australia remained concerned about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, with a lasting peace needed.
Mr Albanese has been criticised for being at APEC as the government deals with detention concerns.
Mr Albanese has defended his attendance at the summit, after he was attacked by the opposition for jetting off overseas while the government dealt with the fallout of detainees - some violent criminals - being released into the community after a High Court ruling.
Earlier, he met with Thailand's new prime minister Srettha Thavisin for the first time and congratulated him on his victory.Â
Posing for a photo, Mr Albanese stood between Mr Trudeau and Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, whose nation will host the summit next year.
Mr Albanese met with Microsoft boss Satya Nadella upon his arrival in San Francisco.
Also on the agenda were talks with Californian Governor Gavin Newsom and US investment BlackRock chief executive Larry Fink.
