Go Nagambie executive officer Sissy Hoskins said the event highlighted the leisure lifestyle that Nagambie had to offer and was a tilt of the hat to all things fun in the water.
She said it would be a fun family day with events aimed at the kids and young at heart, as well as adult-based events.
“Most events in the festival are open to any age group,” Ms Hoskins said.
“Other events such as the Tahbilk Wine Bar is an over-18s affair, but right next door is the Tahbilk Great Grape Stomp that is open for all ages.”
The event offers different activities, from a farmers’ market in the morning to Wacky Water Play, the Mitchelton Boardwalk Run, friendly competitions and a relaxing Nagambie Brewery ski finale.
“The highlight is having everyone participate, all the family having fun together on or near the water,” Ms Hoskins said.
“It is really our tribute to the leisure lifestyle of Nagambie and the official end of summer.”
Before jumping into the event, there are a few things to remember.
First, don’t forget to take your bathers.
“The Wacky Water Go Adventure Stay and Play event has elements that are on the water as well as on land,” Ms Hoskins said.
“Some people like to bring a wetsuit for the Waterways open water swim.
“Don’t forget the sunscreen, as the event is all outdoors.”
She also reminds guests that the event aims to be inclusive.
“Remember to bring a smile and your fun pants,” she said.
“Be patient if you are waiting for a ride or your turn in one of the many events on offer at the festival.”
Nagambie on Water will be on Saturday, February 24, from 9am.
Some activities are free to enter, while some events will be ticketed admission.
“Some events such as the Go Adventure Goulburn Cup, Waterways open water swim and beer group Kelvingrove Floating Golf shoot-out have a fee,” Ms Hoskins said.
“For the Beer group Kelvingrove Floating Golf shoot-out, there is only one $5000 prize on offer, so get some practice in for a 70m tee-off on to the floating golf green.”
