Echuca co-captain Will Monahan has been arguably the Murray Bombers’ most important player this year, ranked equal-third in the Goulburn Valley League goal-kicking as a mid-forward.

However, opposing him is prolific ball-winner Will Hayes, who has had no trouble finding the footy since making his return to Euroa from an AFL stint with Carlton.
And a match-up between the two could make for a highly entertaining contest.
Monahan has stepped up to fill the void left by Ruory Kirkby and Dan Willis, booting 20 goals from seven clashes.
But his work in the Echuca engine room when required has also been exemplary, collecting 16 disposals, six contested possessions and three inside-50s a game.
However, Hayes has been no slouch either.
No-one has collected more of the footy than Hayes this season, leading the way with 36 disposals a game.
The Pies talisman is also rated elite in contested possessions (12.1), ranking points (143.9) and marks (six).
Hayes has drawn wraps as one of the early-season favourites for the Morrison Medal, and Echuca will need to keep the clamps firmly on the midfield marvel.
Monahan vs Hayes (season averages)
Will Monahan: 16 disposals, three goals, six marks, six contested possessions
Will Hayes: 36 disposals, 12 contested possessions, six inside-50s, five clearances
