It is a question three teams in Goulburn Valley League have had to ask so far, and the stats show none of them have found the answer.
West Australian Magro joined United fresh off winning an NTFL premiership with Waratah and he has not wasted much time in making his impact felt.
Margro has slotted home 12 goals in his three games, a feat that has him as the early front-runner for the O’Toole Cup – the prize awarded to the league’s leading goal-kicker.
He’s been accurate too – his 12.3 means he is converting an impressively high 80 per cent of his shots on goal.
Of the three teams Magro has played against, none have been able to hold him to fewer than three goals in a game.
In fact, he is the only player to have kicked at least three goals in all three rounds.
The crafty forward had four goals in round one against Shepparton, five against Shepparton Swans and then three against Mooroopna.
Magro was goalless at half-time against the Cats, but he was still able to make an impact with three majors in the second half.
“He (Magro) will kick three most weeks, he was quite impressive,” Mooroopna coach John Lamont said.
Hot on Magro’s heels in the race for the O’Toole Cup is reigning league leading goal-kicker Chris Nield of Mooroopna.
Nield has booted 10 goals in 2023, with his bag of six against United on Saturday catapulting him into second place on the leaderboard.
It’s a four-way tie in third spot, with Sean Williams (Rochester), Josh Mellington (Benalla), Lachlan Waite (Seymour) and Jett Trotter (Euroa) kicking nine goals each.
The quartet has kicked multiple goals in each round.
