One player leading the next crop of emerging stars forward is youngster Dom Gugliotti.
The classy defender has become a mainstay in the senior line-up since breaking onto the scene last year.
Gugliotti is one of a dozen talents, under the age of 21, who step out onto the field at the 2.35pm timeslot.
A versatile option down back, Gugliotti has played all 12 games this Goulburn Valley League season.
His ability to use his pace and run to help break the lines has caught the eye of many onlookers.
Thanks to GVL Data, we can now delve into Gugliotti’s numbers in 2022 ahead of Mooroopna’s crucial clash against Kyabram on Saturday.
Gugliotti has averaged 19 disposals and 6.6 marks across half-back and in flourishes into the midfield — when called upon by senior coach John Lamont — Gugliotti has showed his ability to find the ball with ease.
One instance came in round three when he chalked up eye-catching 30 disposals.
In that win over Shepparton United, Gugliotti had 17 kicks, 13 handballs at 88 per cent by foot and 85 per cent by hands.
He also had seven inside 50 deliveries, four spoils and 11 handball receives.
Another of his standouts came in round eight against Echuca.
His 19 disposals consisted of a whopping 10 rebound 50s that highlighted his drive out of defence.
And with a season average disposal efficiency of 80 per cent by foot, Gugliotti is one of the players to gift the ball to on Saturday for the Cats.
