Hold tight - we’re checking permissions before loading more content On Sunday, February 16, 193 people came together to enjoy the Valentine’s Light Lunch at The Woolshed in Emerald Bank, Kialla. Every year, the Shepparton Soroptimists put on the lunch, with all funds raised going towards GV Health Foundation. Fundraising committee member Jeanette Berry said the event went really well, with a big turnout. “The Woolshed supplied us a delicious lunch,” she said. “We’ve done this for quite a few years now, with fundraising going towards nursing scholarships through the GV Health Foundation. “The Soroptimists are very grateful for all those who support our events; without their support, we couldn’t do these fundraisers.” The lunch featured door prizes, a trading table that raised over $1200, a raffle and guest speakers, including Clare Pullar and Lyn Brett. At the event, a $5000 cheque was presented to the GV Health Foundation for a scholarship for a postgraduate nurse to further their studies. News photographer Rechelle Zammit went to the lunch and snapped all the fun. Jan Dainton, Mary Suratman and Heather Smith feel the love in the air.
