The Swans were clinical after half-time and booted seven goals to two en route to the 12.8 (80) to 6.6 (42) win at Deakin Reserve.
Eyeing off United's position on the ladder, the Swans were well held by the home side in the first half of the round 10 encounter.
The visitors held a narrow four-point margin at the main break, but were able to break the shackles in the third term.
Diesel Batey (one goal) was best-on for the Swans, with the talented teen gathering plenty of the ball and hitting the scoreboard as well.
Ethan Goggin was potent up forward with four majors, while Harrison Mazzella (one) provided strong support.
Kyle Montgomery and Jordan Wiggins each booted a goal and were United's top performers.
Euroa cruised to a 38-point triumph over Tatura to keep in touch of the top six.
The Magpies’ hot start to the match — booting eight of the first 10 goals — laid the platform for the win.
Nic Asquith was deadly in front of the big sticks with five majors, while Nick Burke (three) was judged best-on.
Riley Gallivan and Nate Green flew the flag for the Bulldogs in the 12.14 (86) to 6.12 (48) loss.
Lastly, a six-goal masterclass from Ben Les has kept the window ajar on Mansfield's season.
The Eagles were able to run away and claim a comfortable 11.10 (76) to 7.4 (46) win over Benalla.
Mansfield remains two points behind Euroa in eighth spot.
No surprises to see Les named best afield, but Jimmy Payne and Cody George chipped in with great support.
Benalla's Colby Mathieson and Charlie Bull battled hard.
