Graham Hill Eyecare held its annual expo on Wednesday, October 30, where shoppers peered into mirrors, trying on an endless variety of glasses in all shapes and colours.
And I do mean endless.
There were over 500 models of sunglasses from this season’s collections by Gucci, YSL, Oroton, Tom Ford, Le Specs, Guess, Maui Jim, Ray-Ban, and more available for sale.
Many of these styles were offered outside of Melbourne for the first and only time.
However, it’s important to focus on the charitable cause behind it.
All sunglasses were 20 per cent off on the day, with 50 per cent of the proceeds donated to the GV Health Foundation, supporting women’s oncology services at GV Health.
Graham Hill Eyecare director Mark DePaola said it was the single most productive day in the 60 year history of Graham Hill Eyecare.
“Over 70 pairs of sunglasses were sold on the day, many with prescription lenses,” he said.
“With a turnover of $42,000 on the day, we are absolutely delighted to make a donation of $21,000 to GV Health Foundation via Ladies Who Lunch ... this is our highest ever donation in the three-year history of our fundraising expo.
“We hope that this will be a meaningful contribution to the Peter Copulos Cancer and Wellness Centre in whichever way GV Health sees fit.”
News photographer Rechelle Zammit was behind her own lens to capture the expo.
