On March 9, I’m frocking up and taking up a ticket in the ‘party paddock’ to watch the race that stops Echuca, the Moama Bowling Club Echuca Cup at the Echuca Racing Club.
The Barham Bowls Club secretary has promised that if I make my way up to cluBarham, the boys will look after me as a spectator at the annual autumn carnival or the Mak Max open triples in April.
Over Easter, I’m setting up camp in my pop-top at the Big Tree Car Park in Moulamein and choosing a yabby for the 30-year tradition of yabby racing at the Moulamein Preschools Easter Fair to support the community.
Or you may find my fur-baby taking part in the pet parade and show at the Rushworth Heritage Festival on Easter Weekend, as he looks fantastic in an outfit.
If we don’t want to leave town, the Port of Echuca will be lighting up the river and the sky with the annual Easter Saturday fireworks, as well as having many other free activities over the school holidays for families.
Anzac Day is a day to commemorate all the Australian and New Zealanders who were killed in military operations, as well as honour all who have served.
To find a march, dawn or commemoration service to attend and pay your respects, there is a list of Anzac Day events in the Campaspe and Murray River regions on pages 38 and 39.
This year is my 20th wedding anniversary with my beloved.
At this year’s Echuca Moama Wedding and Events Festival, you will find everything in one place needed to celebrate this milestone or hold a new one at the Echuca Racing Club on May 4.
Autumn is my time to take up golf, and with my newfound putting skills and practice, I could be up for 36 holes at the Kyabram Parkland Golf Club Victorian Par 3 Women’s Championship.
With so many choices around the region, there may not be time to practice my golf, so leaving it to those with much better handicaps may be the thing to do.
Get out there and be spoilt for choice in the Campaspe and Murray regions this autumn.
