GEMMA LINDSAY did work experience with the ‘Our Home’ features team recently and wrote this lovely piece on teen bedroom styles.
Teenage bedroom styles are always changing. It seems as if no time has passed when hot pink walls, zebra print, and posters of famous boy bands were replaced with fake vines, vinyl records stuck onto the wall, and tapestries.

These changes have happened in the blink of an eye, and I feel that this era of teen bedrooms, has changed for the better.
There is a broader range when it comes to bedroom aesthetics now and you can put a name to a specific style, making it a lot easier for teens to find what suits them best.
Even though some design choices can be vastly different, the two main trends I have noticed are decorative lights and plant décor. Both can complement each other and work beautifully in an overall space.
This warm, earthy and cosy look contains pot plants that can be perfect on a shelf or windowsill, along with warm-toned fairy lights hung on the wall or window.
Being a teenager, I know very well how often we try to avoid using the ceiling light as it can ruin the look of the space, so fairy lights are perfect.
An individual’s personality is as unique as the person itself.
Teen bedrooms are becoming more stylish than ever before, find your creative soul and express it within your walls.
