Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival programmer Jon Howell is working hard to create an unforgettable line-up for this year’s Winter Blues Festival.
“2023 was the best year we have had in a long time, the response to the program was great,” Jon said.
“We had fantastic artists, and the attendance was way up.
“The weather was terrific, and the turnout was huge.
“There was a really good local turnout in 2023, which we tried to go for.
“We were trying to make the festival something that people living in the area and Echuca Moama see as their event and attend.
“We did that by putting on more free shows, that weren’t in pubs.”
Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival is a free festival.
In 2024 the kids’ zone and community stages will return to Hopwood Gardens and the port area.
“It is really important for us to bring new people, younger people with their families and have engagement with the whole community, not just blues fans,” Jon said.
“We believe that the Winter Blues Festival is the most affordable, multi-day music festival you can attend, perhaps in Australia, certainly a blues festival.
“The fact you don’t have to pay to see any of the artists performing means you can visit and control your budget, which I think is super important in this day and age, particularly right now.
“We are hoping that this year, the festival will remain affordable.
“You can stay in the best accommodation in town and eat out and be merry if you can afford it, and if you can’t, you can still come and enjoy it and be part of the action which is important to us.”
The Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival will feature the best blues artists with local, Victorian, national and international acts. Book your accommodation now to ensure you don’t miss out on a toe-tapping good time.
