The school has been recognised with a blue level status for the work undertaken with the School Wide Positive Behaviours program, which Wilmot Road Primary School principal Sharon Thompson said was an achievement and testament to the work of the whole school community.
This year they will celebrate Education Week with the annual Wonders of Wilmot (WOW) awards. The event recognises students in each year level who show outstanding achievement in an academic area or in the area of citizenship.
Mrs Thompson said the whole school community looked forward to the awards ceremony, which fills the school’s hall with excited children and family members.
“A special assembly for the WOW awards will be held Friday, May 19, where area executive director Sharon Hensgen-Smith will be the awards guest presenter,” Mrs Thompson said.
“Our staff strive to develop motivated, creative and independent learners who demonstrate strong social values with strong leadership, resilience and self-esteem for their community.
“There is a strong sense of belonging in our school, with students often referring to the Wilmot Road Primary School community as family.”
