THE LOCKINGTON LIONS CLUB IS REVVING UP FOR ITS ANNUAL SWAP MEET AND SHOW ‘N’ SHINE, SET TO TAKE PLACE ON SUNDAY, MAY 18 AT LOCKINGTON PARK ON PANOO RD.

The automotive extravaganza will run from 7am to 1pm, promising a day of excitement for car enthusiasts and families alike.
“We show any sort of vehicle, including cars, motorbikes, trucks, and utes,” Lockington Lions Club secretary and event organiser Marg Dowie said.
“There is no age range on the vehicles, there are no specific categories, so the show ‘n’ shine is open to any type of vehicle.
“There are about six categories that people can enter to win with their vehicles.”
The show ‘n’ shine will feature various judging categories, including best original, best paint job, and motorcycle.
There is an entry fee that includes the driver and a passenger, while spectators can purchase viewing tickets at the gate.

There has been a charge for swap meet sites so Marg encourages early bookings.
“I would encourage anyone wanting a stall at the swap meet to give me a call and let me know you are coming,” Marg said.
“You can turn up on the day, but I do prefer a bit of notice.”
Food stalls will be a highlight of the event, featuring a doughnut van and a coffee van.
Lockington Lions Club members will be cooking up a “beautiful breakfast” and offering hamburgers and sausages throughout the morning.
Last year's event attracted 48 vehicles, with the capacity for more.
The Lockington Show ‘n’ Shine is proudly sponsored by Autobarn, Shannon’s, and Campaspe Shire.
“The funds from the event go towards the Lockington Lions Club and their projects and then get distributed throughout the community during the year,” Marg said.
For convenience, both cash and EFTPOS payment options will be available at the entrance.
