The Kevin Williams Art Gallery at 25b Main St showcases his vibrant and contemporary Aboriginal artwork.
Williams’ artistic journey includes a quarter-century stint running a gallery in Echuca, where he sold artwork to visitors from across the globe.
His work has garnered recognition at home and abroad, with a recent exhibition in Venice.
“I've exhibited locally, nationally and internationally, including a show in Venice last year featuring artwork we sent over,” Kevin said.
The artist’s Waradjuri heritage profoundly influences his work, which features distinctive markings and patterns.
“My Waradjuri background is reflected in my artwork through markings and patterns that connect to my origins,” Kevin said.
Working with acrylics, oils, glass, and timber, Kevin crafts a diverse range of artworks and artefacts.
His style is characterised by vivid colours and a modern approach to traditional Aboriginal art.
“It’s a bit different from other styles of Aboriginal art,” he said.
“My art reflects my connection to land and country where I’m from.”
The Kevin Williams Art Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
