This comedy extravaganza promises a cracking line-up of performers, including big-name headliners, beloved comedy legends and up-and-coming stars.
Marcel Blanch de Wilt, the tour’s quick-witted MC, couldn’t contain his excitement about the upcoming shows.
“The closing night of a tour leg always has a particular energy as well, so that will be really exciting in Echuca,” he said.
Marcel, who cut his comedy teeth in Adelaide in 2012, has since become a Melbourne-based funnyman with a passion for both treading the boards and working behind-the-scenes.
He stressed the importance of being a skilled MC in the comedy scene.
“Not only is it one of the first ways to get paid in Australian comedy, but it's also a great way to show people that you have skills beyond your stand-up set,” he said.
Marcel’s comedy style is a blend of sharp wit and observational humour, often drawing on his experiences and interactions with audiences.
He approaches each show with a mix of prepared material and improvisation, adapting to the energy of the crowd.
The Echuca show boasts a ripper line-up, including Matt Stewart, Alexandra Hudson, and Con Coutis, with more performers yet to be announced.
“Con Coutis has a wonderful reputation for creating shows that are outside the box, being a lovable weirdo in the alternative comedy world,” Marcel said.
“Alexandra Houston, I worked with last year in Far North Queensland, and I am very pleased to be touring with her again.
“She was the national winner of Raw Comedy a couple of years back and is an incredible comedian who has done a few roadshows now.
“Matt Stewart is both an incredible comedian and also a prolific podcaster and just like your classic Aussie bloke.”
Tickets for the Echuca show can be purchased online through the Paramount Theatre’s website or at the box office.
